With the HARMONICA FEN FESTIVAL 2024, Berlin harmonica player Marko Jovanović is bringing an impressive variety of musical styles to the stage for the second time. "The harmonica is often underestimated in our country. With our festival, we want to show everyone who loves music and is curious how multifaceted this instrument is," says the musician, describing the aims of the festival. Genre diversity and the joy of music are the top priorities.
Internationally renowned harmonica players have accepted Jovanović's invitation to Berlin:
Herbie Hancock student Roni Eytan from New York (jazz, oriental), Opus Klassik prizewinner Konstantin Reinfeld, jazz virtuosos Filip Jers from Sweden and Ariel Bart from Israel, Japan's tremolo star Yuko Yanagawa, Spain's blues duo The Suitcase Brothers (Victor Puertas), virtuoso Joan Pau Cumellas from Spain (blues, jazz manouche) and the winner of the Toots Thielemans Challenge 2022 Rutger Mathys (Belgium) with his band Shikata Ga Nai. Curator Marko Jovanović will open the festival with the Balkan trio Franolić Mureškič Gabrić and the six-piece Sirius Harmonica Ensemble from Taiwan will bring the festival to a close.
