It's a match! Berlin has its regular monthly ceilidh at the Kulturbrauerei. In a fantastic start, the first four Ceilidhs were sold out straight away, each time faster than you can dance. We started small in the Maschinenhaus, now it's time for more space: from March 2025 in the Kesselhaus! Admission remains unchanged at 15 euros plus VVK.
Come and dance as you are, spread the word and come again! "Ceilidh" (pronounced kay-lee) is Gaelic and refers to a sociable evening of dancing together to live Scottish-Irish music. No previous knowledge is necessary, each dance is explained by the band beforehand. There are dances for two, three, six, eight, for the whole room ... it doesn't matter whether you come with or without company - nobody is left out for long, Ceilidhs are very sociable, uncomplicated and welcoming. This happiness is infectious and makes you want more. We can only recommend getting tickets in good time - who knows how quickly the enthusiasm will fill even the large hall ;-)
Nightlark are Patrizia Sieweck (violin/caller), Jane South (flute/accordion) and Herbie Loening (guitar). They play contemporary and traditional folk music from America and Europe and have been playing ceilidhs professionally in Berlin and the surrounding area for many years.
