The band Engerling is celebrating half a century on stage - and has (co-)written rock history during this time. Founded in 1975, they left their mark on the music scene in the GDR, mastered the reunification and post-reunification period and finally went on endless tours that took them far beyond the borders of Germany - as far as the former Soviet Union (now Russia) and the USA.
Their long-standing collaboration with Detroit blues man Mitch Ryder was particularly influential. They performed at the legendary Rockpalast and cultivated a close relationship with the Kulturbrauerei in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district.
Now they are returning there: on Saturday, October 18, Engerling will be celebrating their big anniversary concert "50 Years of Engerling" in the Kesselhaus of the Kulturbrauerei.
Line-up: Wolfram Bodag (ld, key, voc, harm), Heiner Witte (git), Manne Pokrandt (bg), Hannes Schulze (dr)
