Gidge, the duo consisting of Jonatan Nilsson and Ludvig Stolterman, has its roots in the Swedish city of Umeå and is coming to Berlin in November. Their electronic music is characterized by field recordings of nature and is suitable for both the dance floor and a relaxed environment. Each of Gidge's tracks creates its own atmosphere and emotion. Her work evolves naturally and often builds from a calm break, refined with vocal samples and neoclassical influences, to powerful climaxes.
Admired for their inspiration from the forest, nature and the north of Sweden, Gidge's music is indeed of absolutely international caliber and is listened to by people from all over the world. Gidge have sold out club tours in London, Amsterdam, Paris and Stockholm and have played their live set to large audiences at festivals in Mexico, Georgia, Turkey and Thailand. Blogs like Pigeons & Planes, A Closer Listen and Ransom Note wrote about their music - Pitchfork contributors voted Gidge their favorite artists to listen to on snowy days - XLR8R readers voted Gidge #1 "Best New Electronic Acts" in 2015 - Bandcamp highlighted "LNLNN" as "Album of the Day" in 2017.
Gidge's discography includes the album "Autumn Bells", the short film "Lulin" (in collaboration with Lampray), the mini-album "LNLNN" and the debut EP "For Seoul". Their latest album "New Light" was released on November 6, 2021, which also received critical acclaim.
