ONUKA is a Ukrainian electro-folk band founded by Nata Zhizhchenko, a singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, and Yevhen Filatov (THE MANEKEN), a musician, composer, sound producer and director. ONUKA's sound is an organic blend of electronics, contemporary pop music and Ukrainian folk instruments. ONUKA were the first to make the rich heritage of Ukrainian culture accessible to a wide audience in the context of modern music.
The European tour "ROOM" is a continuation of the Ukrainian tour - the presentation of the band's latest album and a separate opportunity for all Ukrainians to be heard and seen outside Ukraine, an opportunity to share everything that has accumulated inside and tell music everything that is in the hearts of Ukrainians. In the near future ONUKA will perform in Warsaw, Prague, Berlin, Cologne, Brussels, Paris and Munich.
"ROOM" is the band's fourth music album, each song of which is dedicated to a particular problem of today's Ukrainians in war conditions. None of the Ukrainians wanted to put themselves in the shoes of these events, no one expected their lives to be divided into "before" and "after". Only a few people had the time, opportunity and space to realize their forced new lives and rethink their dreams for the future. Each song on the album is dedicated to the dramatic emotions and situations the Ukrainians found themselves in.
The album contains 10 songs, two of which were previously released as singles: the poignant ballad "The Soul of the People" and the driving, life-affirming "PEREMOHA". The track "PEREMOHA" made it onto the EQUAL Global playlist with almost one million subscribers, and ONUKA became the Ukrainian ambassador for Spotify Equal, demonstrating the band's social responsibility.
"I sincerely hope and believe that every listen to our music brings us closer to victory both indirectly and literally, because music connects, music heals, music saves, music donates and music wins." - Nata Zhizhchenko as Spotify Equal Ambassador.
