orbit is the electronic project of 28-year-old producer and songwriter Marcel Heym. With a unique sound characterized by raw acoustic sounds and atmospheric synthesizer leads, Marcel has found a way to express his immersive dream world.
After becoming a music producer and moving to Berlin in his early twenties, Marcel realized he couldn't find happiness in the noise of the urban jungle. A few weeks after fleeing the city and returning to his hometown, he launched his own first music project in nostalgic devotion to his roots, releasing his debut EP "Perspectives" in 2020. Rather than being a shiny new product of the music industry, orbit increasingly became a multidimensional place for creativity and a genuine community both inside and outside the internet. Without having a record label, Marcel and his friends created a collective that realizes various projects like handmade merchandise.
In 2021, orbit called on its fan base to organize concerts together in their hometowns. A few months later, Marcel and his friends played over 20 shows nationwide at private festivals, wild woods and backyards. A year later, orbit expanded his circles with countless live shows across Europe, playing support for his friend Parra For Cuva and closing the year with his first headline club tour.
In spring 2023 Marcel released his third EP "Sunday By The River", which debuted at the Zeiss Planetarium Berlin. The new EP, with corresponding live shows in November, moves into a new dark sphere in the artist's universe: "It was born in a process where I learned to accept and even admire the night side of life."
