Randy McStine is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer. He is best known as a guitarist and vocalist whose work as a solo artist and with his former band Lo-Fi Resistance spans genres such as rock, progressive, singer-songwriter, folk, power pop and ambient music.
In 2020, he formed the duo McStine & Minnemann with drummer and composer Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats). The eclectic duo has released two albums and made their live debut in 2022. Shortly after, Randy was hired as a touring member of Porcupine Tree, who returned after a 12-year hiatus with a new album and a world tour. A live album and concert film from the tour, Closure/Continuation.Live, features McStine's additions to the band, while Randy's most recent solo release, UNINTENTIONAL, serves as an inspired tribute to his early blues rock guitar influences. Randy is currently working on music for McStine & Minnemann, and a new solo album is planned for 2024.
