"I'm here to bring rock 'n' roll into the 21st century, violently if I have to," says Des Rocs. "That's what I was put on this earth to do."
If that sounds ambitious for a skinny outsider from New York, consider this: In the four years since Des Rocs first released songs from his New York bedroom, he's racked up more than 225 million streams, cracked the Top 30 at Alternative Radio and even opened for the Rolling Stones. A fourth-generation New Yorker, Des began his career in various groups, touring with the likes of Weezer, Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco before going solo in 2018 with his debut EP, "Let The Vultures In," which reached more than 50 million streams on Spotify alone. Two similarly well-received EPs followed: 2019's "Martyr Parade" and 2020's "This Is Our Life." A year later, Des Rocs released his first full-length album, "A Real Good Person In A Real Bad Place" (2021).
The New York City-based rock artist's latest album is titled "Dream Machine" and was released on August 25, 2023. The songs are reminiscent of the glory days of metal and grunge and offer a bedroom arena rock sound.
