Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche was born in 1961 in eastern Bhutan. He was recognized as a tulku by Sakya Trichen and received empowerments and teachings from many of the greatest masters of Tibetan Buddhism of his time.
Rinpoche restored the Dzongsar Monastery in Tibet and founded the Dzongsar Institute in India; he runs two monasteries in Bhutan and has established Dharma centers in Australia, Berlin, North America, and Asia. He has written several books ("What makes you (not) a Buddhist," "Not for happiness") and directed award-winning films, including "Travelers & Magicians" and "Looking for a Lady with Fangs and a Mustache." Rinpoche travels constantly throughout the world to practice and teach the Dharma.
