Growing up in the coastal town of Portaferry, Co. Down - "where everyone knows your name," he says with a grin - young Ryan abandoned his youthful passion for hurling in favor of music. Today he's one of the most exciting young singer-songwriters around, but was a self-confessed late bloomer when it came to his musical career. Now 32, McMullan spent his early years playing catch-up, but admits that "music has always been a part of my life." Having toured the globe with some of the most well-known artists* such as Ed Sheeran, Snow Patrol, Kodaline and Foy Vance, Ryan quickly understood his role and has gone on to tour the world himself. With his debut album "Redesign" due out later this year, nothing stands in the way of an incredible year for Ryan McMullan. Of his new work, he says, "An album that has remade itself over and over again, 'Redesign' is finally here. It began as a redesign of sound and aesthetics, but quickly morphed into a redesign of spirit.
The challenges of loneliness, depression and the limitations of the pandemic brought forth true moments of love, hope and joy. A form of therapy at a time when I needed it most." To top it all off, Ryan McMullan will be touring again in September and will also play concerts in Cologne, Berlin and Munich.
